MONK GUIDE

Basic Pre-Master Information
Monks are one of the basher paths of Temuair. Monks are generally weaker than warriors in raw power, due to having less assails, but monks deal more power through skills than a warrior. Monks do well hunting in most hunting grounds and are exceptional in East Woods, West Woods and especially Karlopos Island since they have the spell 'Ao Puinsein.' Monks can also learn a spell 'Draco Stance' or 'Dion' to give them temporary invulnerability. Monks have some special features for only monks, the first is the animal forms. Monks have the option of choosing a special 'form' that comes with 3 unique skills/spells. Draco, and White Bat are the most commonly used forms, and Kelberoth is a great form for those with higher HP, and sub-paths. Monks also have the Sapphire Stream Monastery which provides them with many skills and spells. To learn the spells in the Monastary you must teach other Aislings their 'Dugons' which to some is a great unique monk ability, and to others is a hassle of getting their required 'Hubaes' or students. For monks the most difficult time to overcome is the Insights 80-99.

Animal Forms
To learn an animal form go to the Fighter Trainer in Suomi. You can learn a form with stats 10/10/10/10/10 alone or 5/5/5/5/5 with someone teaching you, so bring another monk along who knows the form you wish to choose. Each form will also altar your base stats which may make it easier, or more difficult to learn other spell and skills. Because Draco takes -3Dex, you must have at least 4 Base Dex to learn Draco Form, the rest of the forms you can have stats at 3/3/3/3/3 + items.

Sapphire Stream Monastary
The Sapphire Stream Monastary is a special area where monks (Sabonim) can teach other monks (Hubae) to get access to a various amount of spells and skills. The skills and spells learned at the Monastary greatly help the Monk path. Most Aisling subbing will not get Black Dugon, but only Red Dugon as it has the last important skills. Wraith's Touch is not a very powerful spell.. but Wolf Fang Fist (wff) is very popular. Because every monk needs to get 20-32 Hubae students, there are quite a limited amount in the game and most often you will have to buy your hubae or be very patient to get free ones which is one major downside of monks.

Herbalism
Herbalism is a very handy skill you can learn early on as a monk. It not only creates potions that heal, and cure poison, but creating them earns you experience. There are many kinds of herb's you can produce. To create these herbs you are required to have a cloth glove equipped, also some herbs need either wax or wine. You can get wax from bee's in the eastern woodlands, and wine is readily available at all taverns, rogues can higgle wine also. Head out to the enchanted garden with your wine, wax and equipped cloth glove to begin herbalism. Please note that a day's labor is needed to create a potion. It's recommend that you take an assistant who also know's herbalism to assist you, as it requires less labor and you have more of a chance of success. Walk around the plants in the garden. Once you locate the herb you desire, start the process. Every so often, you will attain a legend mark stating you are a herbalist *Herbalism (1)* the higher your level, you get more chance of success and a chance of getting more potion out of a bottle of wine.

Hydele Deum: This potion heals the user to full health. The plants are large and vibrant red, they are very hard to miss. Stem into the bush, pluck a few leaves and start mixing it in with the wine.

Personica Deum: This potion cure's an aisling of poison. This potion can be used by Aisling willing to do the "Mother's Love" quest. Personaca is a small purple leafed plant.

Betony Deum: Its only visible attribute is removing nightmare's from one's dream's. Help the mother's in the taverns with this vanilla potion. You could earn yourself a purple flower which is quite the rare artifact. (mother's love quest). The bright white leaves on this plant make it stand out.

Fifleaf Deum: A potion that revives a small amount of health, Fifleaf is not sought after, so it is rarely grown. Higglers in Mileth grow them, you can find them growing outside their door's.

Hemloch Deum: This potion will bring you very close to death. Warriors require this potion for several things, to start the Carnun Quest or to practice the skill 'Crasher'. The hemloch weed grows near lake soaked rocks. Its main source is undine.

Ancusa Ceir: This herb is used mainly to cure burns of the mother in the Mother's Love quest. Ancusa can be found along banks of river's mainly in peit and undine. Make sure you carry a piece of raw wax with you to mix it with the Ancusa. You will then Create Speckled wax to apply to the burns. Speckled wax can also be used as a belt to provide Fire Defense.
Monk Master
Once you have gotten to Insight 99, you are required to make a choice to either sub and be a dual-path aisling or master as a pure path. Everyone can master, but whatever the 2nd class you choose is, will be your mastering class. For example a monk who gets to 99 then masters would be a 'Pure Monk,' a monk the gets to 99 then subs to Warrior would be a 'Monk/Warrior' and would learn the warrior master skills once they are ready to master. If monk if your ending class when you are ready to master here are the skills, spells and armors you will be able to acquire, as well as your mastering requirements.
Monk Master Requirements:
1) You must first meet the HP/MP Requirements to master. Monks have require all stats to be 15 or greater without items and have 6850HP and 4000MP. If your stats are not all at 15+ you are required to have 8850HP and 4500MP which will make your stats very expensive to buy.
2) Next you must have the required skills or spells in order to master. Monks have 3 options for mastering these. 1st option is have Brown Dugon and learn Wise Touch. 2nd option is to max Puinneag Beatha and Beag Nochd. 3rd option is to max Claw Fist and Wise Touch.
3)Next thing you must do in order to master is craft the Sand Glass at the Monastery. To craft it you must have a Cauldron and Gold Sand. You can either buy your master set or hunt them in Cthonic Remains 55.
4) Lastly you must have 200000000 exp, and be ready to sacrifice it to master.
Pure Master vs Sub Master:
Subs simply get the skills/spells of 2 classes. Pure Monks can learn the skill Whirlwind, which is a HP based 4-way attack. The attack is not very powerful compared to the other HP based attacks in the game. Pure class masters also gain better Grand Master Armors and Weapons which you can see below. Also note that once you become a Druid you lose your master and grand master gear. Pure Druids get a bonus of 5000MP when they do thier class change.

MONK MAX STATS:
180 - 150 - 100 - 215 - 100

Druid
Monks 2nd tier class is Druid. To become a druid you must have 250mil exp, 500hp and 500mp ready to be sacrificed. You must also have completed all 4 Creants. When you become a druid you then have the option to hunt ability points (AP) to gain Abilities. At new abilities you can get new armors, skills and spells. When you become a druid you also lose all of your master armors/weapons and grand master armors/weapons. If you are a Pure Monk, you will receive a bonus of 5000Mp when you go druid. Druids also have the unique feature of choosing a new form, these forms however cannot be changed once you choose them so choose wisely. Druids can choose become either a Feral Druid, Komodas Druid or Kurura Druid. When you go druid however, you lose a lot of weapon power due to the loss of the grand master weapons.
