Knight Duties

The primary duty of a Knight is to mediate any kind of conflict or situation in the community that is brought to their attention. Basically, to ensure that any aisling who has a problem, has someone to bring it to where they know it will get resolved. While many of the conflicts they are called to resolve involve politics, or more specifically, officials either failing to do their duties, or abusing their office, they are not limited to only political complaints in any way.
If they cannot mediate with all involved parties and arrive at a resolution to the problem with them, depending on what the jurisdiction of the case would've been had it not been taken to them, they are to find a suitable official or ranger (one that can be sure will handle it correctly.) If it is something that requires mundane intervention on the situation, then they are to bring it to their attention, and they will deal with that.
Knights are not bound by jurisdiction, and can take a complaint about pretty much anything, anywhere, from anyone. Any complaint brought to them is theirs to resolve, and only goes elsewhere if it cannot be resolved with mediation alone. They are also expected, and required, to obey Aisling and Mundane laws, unless an Aisling law in some way interfered with doing their duties. (I.e., if a law were passed in Mileth stating that Knights couldn't enter Mileth commons or something, they wouldn't be held to it.)
Knights other duties include reporting environmental flaws ((bugs,)) anyone who happens to be abusing them, monitoring the current politicians, and if there is a corrupt official causing problems that will require mundane intervention, reporting them. ((Knights can also handle complaints regarding character sharing, the buying and selling of accounts, and most other ToS infractions.)) Sleep-hunters remain the responsibility of the Rangers, as does profanity. Repeat offenders of Aisling and Mundane law can be reported to knightd, if punishments by Aisling officials are of no use to solve the problem. They may also, as required, on a case by case basis, also perform other duties for the Mundanes by their request. Those may or may not normally fall under our duties, and it is difficult to say what they might include. Knights also host the contests. Information and rules about them can be found in the Contest Hall in the lower corner of Mileth College.

Knights are also to vote upon other qualified aislings for the position, and much as it did with their appointment, Knights candidacy will be open for other aislings to post about on the candidacy board when one is up for review.
Further duties and changes will most likely be made to the Knights at some point in the future. When that occurs, this list will be updated.
